Fall Colors

While you're gearing up for Fall steelhead, don't forget the brown trout.  The wild browns are starting to get active.  And, their Autumn colors are starting to show.  If you're a trout fisherman, don't forget the butter bellies. They are loads of fun on 1-3wt rods!

What are you waiting for?

This...

The Lake Erie tributaries are slowly starting to take shape across Ohio and Pennsylvania.  I did a little scouting in both states today.

I was able to swing up one steelhead on a Pennsylvania trib at daylight.  The water in Pennsylvania was low and clear.  As the sun came up the fish started hugging tight to structure.  I decided to switch things up at that point and dead drift some small offerings.  Today a #14 cherise single egg and a #16 Copper John did the trick.  The big guy hammered the little Copper John and gave me quite a ride.

The water in Ohio is in a little better shape, but does not have quite the push of fish that Pennsylvania has.  Both states need some significant rain.  When that happens, it will be on!

Start making some plans to get out this Fall or in the Spring.  LET'S GO FISHIN'!
